The terms "quilt," "doona," and "duvet" all refer to the same thing in Australia: a weighted blanket packed with down or synthetic fibres that serve as a top covering for a bed.

The quilt is then covered with a "quilt cover" or "doona cover," which serves two purposes: it protects the quilt and keeps it clean, and it adds colour, texture, and depth to the bedroom.
